Guest Poem: Try

Today it's my honor to turn the spotlight over to Rue Arrow, one of my very dear friends and a very talented writer. <3 Be sure to check out her blog afterwards - it's one of my favorite crannies in the internet (shhhh).

I see the roses wilting and wonder why

Is a cloudy day reason enough to cry?

Plip, plop.

Raindrop.

Drizzling from the sky

Thunder billows in the air like a raging sea

Shadows overcome the light; they laugh at me

Grey skies.

Harsh lies.

I’m no longer free.

Why do the flowers hide?

Please, little birdie, take flight.

I believe in you. . . just try

The sun will rise tomorrow

It always does

Morning will swallow the sorrow

The bees will buzz

The flowers will bloom

The birds will fly

Just hang on, luv

Just make it till tomorrow

Try

The swirling waters threaten to overwhelm my heart

Guess I had reason to fear failure from the start

Please stop

Oh stop

I’m falling apart

Why do the flowers hide?

Please, little birdie, take flight.

I believe in you. . . just try

The sun will rise tomorrow

It always does

Morning will swallow the sorrow

The bees will buzz

The flowers will bloom

The birds will fly

Just hang on, luv

Just make it till tomorrow

Listen, darling. . .

Try
